Before his performance and the first game, Kendrick paid a visit to the “Final Four Show”to chat with Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Clark Kellogg. He rated his own basket balls skills at 8.5 out of 10 and gave his opinion on Charles Barkley’s performance of “One Shining Moment”. One thing you learn about Kendrick in this interview is that he is not afraid to point out awkward singing but remained positive by stating that their attitude made their performance phenomenal.
To accompany the Final Four Show, the NCAA decided to bring its own music festival to Houston. The festival began Friday, April 1, 2016 with from Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy. After Villanova took the win over Oklahoma, Kendrick took the stage in Houston and literally made the crowd levitate.
Kendrick’s set took place just before the University of North Carolina vs. Syracuse Final Four game and it was broadcasted on TNT and TBS while being live stream around the world. Since the world is his stage, he took this opportunity to perform something that he has never performed before and decided to surprise the audience with “Untitled 7 (Levitate)".
“Untitled 7(Levitate)” is from Lamar’s most recent release“untitled, unmastered”, in which he shocked the world with a surprise release of the EP back in the month of March of this year. The release did exceptionally well by charting for one week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Take a look at the performance below.
